On the
south eastern slopes of Mount Soledad many homes have a view of some sort, either
hillside, back country, city lights and/or bay and ocean views.
After WWII Nautilus Street was built leading up from the ocean to
the peak of the mountain. This allowed for the development of what we now
know as Soledad.
One of Mt Soledad's claim to fame is Charles
Lindberg (first man to fly the Atlantic solo) and his wife flew gliders of
